What comes with you
Your customers (names, cells, emails, notes, and whether they said no to emails) and your open tickets (items, prices, due dates and what's been paid). Your price list too, if your old system exports it.
Orders already picked up stay in your old system: only orders still in your shop come over, so keep its reports for past sales. Money already paid on an imported ticket shows as Paid before import and isn't counted in Hangr's takings.
Export from your current system
Most counter systems can save customers and orders as a CSV or Excel file: look for Export, Reports or Backup in it, or ask its support for a customer export. You don't need to tidy the file first.
No export at all? Download a template from Settings → Import and fill it in. Each customer needs a phone number.
Match the columns
Hangr reads the file, guesses which column is which, and shows you its guess. Change any of them before anything is saved.
Check the preview
You see every row as it will arrive, and the rows with a problem, such as a cell number that isn't one, with the reason. Fix the file or skip those rows.
Old ticket numbers still work
An imported ticket keeps its old number beside Hangr's own, so the tags already on your rack still match. You can search for it, and scan it if you use tags.
Nothing assumed about your customers
Bringing them over sends nothing to anyone. An imported customer gets the same order emails as any other when you take a new order for them, and nothing else unless you switch it on. Texts are rolling out and are not live yet, and no file you bring over can record a customer as agreeing to them.
Changed your mind?
For 14 days after an import, the Undo this import button takes out what it added that nobody has used since, and leaves everything else as it was.
Start
In Hangr, open Settings → Import, or choose “Bring customers from your old system” when you finish setting up your shop. Only the shop's owner can import.
