Who we are

Hangr is order tracking and point of sale software for dry cleaners, tailors and laundromats. It is operated by Hangr.app, Rockland County, New York. Questions about your data: contact us.

A shop that uses Hangr decides what it records about its own customers; we hold that data for the shop.

What shops give us

Your account: name, email, a hash of your password (never the password itself), when you last signed in, and records of your sign-in tokens. Your shop: its name, phone, address, opening hours, time zone and logo; your staff's accounts and roles; your price list.

Your tickets, and the payments recorded at the counter (the amount and the method only: Hangr does not process cards). If you applied for the beta: your name, email, business, the note you wrote, your cell, how you would like us to reach you and how you heard about us if you gave them, and our review notes; setup links hold the email, name and business they were made for. Our admin activity log records who approved, disabled or created what, with emails and business names.

If you're a customer of a shop

For the shop, we hold your phone number, your name if the shop enters one, your orders, whether you asked not to be texted, and photos of your garments. Photos are kept in private storage and shown only to the shop and through your own order link.

We also keep a record of every text sent to you (the number and the message). Texts are in demo mode today: recorded, not actually sent. To see or remove your data, ask the shop, or contact us.

Cookies, your device and logs

We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and in the staff app one that remembers whether the side menu is open. No tracking or advertising cookies, and no analytics; if we ever add analytics, this page changes first. On the shop's device, a half-filled ticket (including the customer's cell) is kept in the browser tab for up to 30 minutes so nothing is lost, and the light or dark theme choice is kept in the browser.

We don't keep IP addresses or browser details in our database. Sign-in limits use the email and IP address briefly, in a cache. When something fails, our server logs record the error, which can include details of the request that failed.

Who processes it for us

Laravel Cloud hosts Hangr, its database and its photo storage. Once switched on: Cloudflare checks for bots on sign-in, sign-up, password reset, the beta application and the contact form (it sees the visitor's IP address and browser signals); Google helps a shop find its own business listing (we keep the listing's id), and keeps the messages sent through our contact form (name, email, phone if given, the message) in a Google Sheet; Twilio sends texts; and Resend sends email.

We don't sell data, and we don't use it for advertising.

How shops are kept apart

Each shop's data is kept apart from every other shop's at the database level. Our own admins see account, application and shop-level information (names, emails, counts), not a shop's customers or tickets.

Keeping and deleting

There is no automatic deletion today: data is kept until a shop asks us to export or delete it. Contact us to ask. A customer of a shop can ask that shop, or us.

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it.
